It can be really useful when working locally to use Mamp’s database it’s very easy to setup new databases and manage them. By default Nova probably won’t be able to connect to the database unless you map a project from Mamp. The system directory is the core of Nova Framework as such it should not be touched, to this end the system directory has been moved to its own repository. This makes upgrading Nova Framework a lot easier by running the composer command "composer update" on the root of the project. This will update any changes in the System and won't touch the App directory.Continue Reading
I’m really happy to announce version 3.0 has been released of Nova Framework, (Nova is the new name, replacing Simple MVC Framework). The main focus of 3.0 was to place files above the document root.
This meant restructering the folders and there paths, normally assets such as css, js files and images are placed in the public folder so they can be ran normally, we went futher and placed everything except .htaccess and index.php above the root including all images, css and js files!.
